This is the Ulysses butterfly found in the far North-Eastern parts of Australia. A stunning butterfly when flying showing off bright electric blue wings, but when it sits it closes it’s wings to mimic a dead leaf – not exactly exciting. This one proved very difficult to photograph as it flew around wildly. I managed to get a few shots as it sat down just before it closed it’s wings.
