I went in close to photograph this flower today when I noticed the tiny butterfly moth (Thanks Andrew for pointing that out 🙂 ) on one of the petals. It was only about 6mm (a quater inch) in length but just as beautiful as its bigger cousins. This was taken at 55mm zoom with a Raynox DCR-250 Close Up Filter attached

  1. Hi Reinhardt, I think this is one of the Choreutidae moths (so-called metalmarks). We have some here in HK but there are several species in Australia. I found this site on Brisbane and it may be a good starting point if you want to ID this further. http://www.brisbaneinsects.com/brisbane_daymoths/Choreutidae.htm

    Cheers,
    Andrew

  2. So delicate. Wonderful photo 🙂

  3. Thanks Reinhardt, this moth ministered to me today of God’s care in the smallest of things. I needed that reminder.
