This is the Crimson Rosella, another very beautiful bird that calls Australia home. I went for a walk along a nature path in a forest in the Dandenong Ranges East of Melbourne when this fellow caught my eye, sitting just a few meters off the path. I spent some time watching him, until some noisy hikers walked past. Of course he flew off long before they reached me, and they probably went home that day wandering why they didn’t see any wildlife. 🙂

I read once that one should only post your best images, so I’m breaking one of my rules here as this one is not really the best quality image. The light was very bad, and I was  actually amased to see how well my Nikon captured him. I thought I’d share anyway.
