Pacific Moon

This is a night shot that I attempted of the moon rising over the pacific ocean, as seen from Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast. Even though the moon was almost full it was still quite dark and resulted in a shutter speed of about 10 seconds, so the sea and clouds appear to be a little blurred. I’ll try it again at some time with a higher ISO setting, but here is my first attempt in the mean time.

  1. There is a lot to like in this photo. Of course, the moonglow, the starts, the cloud bank, the rays descending beneath the clouds, the slightly smooth water, and the ambiance in general. You can be very proud of this, I think.

  2. Thanks Phil for the kind comments. I must admit, most of the skill in this picture was thanks to the technology that Nikon provides, I'm still learning a lot!
