St John’s Cathedral

While walking along Ann Street in Brisbane I passed the St John’s Anglican Cathedral and decided to go in to have a look. From the outside the building is large, but rather plain. The inside though was a totally different story. Bright light shone in from outside through the stained glass windows projecting the most wonderful colours onto the intricate stone walls. In spite of it’s size, the cathedral had a warm and inviting atmosphere matched by the friendly reception that the volunteer guides gave me as they told me about this magnificent building.
You can read more about this building’s history on the wikipedia page and also the church’s website.
